Thailand Travel – Tattoos
Thai Dating series.
Tattoos are becoming more popular among the younger generation, in the early years it was the salty fisherman, Military service men and the hardcases where as now boys and girls are getting themselves inked up.
Thailand is no exception with no shortage of Thai people sporting tattoos in some shape or form,There are some Thai girls with tattoos their favorite spots seem to be on the shoulder, lower back and ankles the more likely candidates are the Thai Bar girls with the larger more obvious tattoos but the good girls can still be seen with small, well designed tattoos.
I am not a big fan of tattoos on the ladies but if they are well done not to obvious or to big then that is fine, the Thai women seem to go for flowers and designs with color.
I looked at getting a Black and Red dragon, the tattoo parlour was in Bangkok and the price was 1500 Baht about $50 usd, the same tattoo in the west would set you back a few hundred dollars, at that price adding a few tattoos to your Thailand holiday itenary would be smart thinking.
On a trip to Koh Samui I was watching a few tourists, men and women getting the traditional tattoo using the stick and Mallet, there are 4 or 5 needles at the bottom of the stick, you bite your lip and let them get on with it,the designs are based mainly on a single color, was fun to watch but was not joining the cue for my own dose of pain.
From the parlours I have seen they look hygienic and have sterilization machines I have not heard of any problems of a health and safety point of view.
If you are Dating Online and have organized to meet one of our single Thai girls it would not hurt to mention you have tattoos, what they are and where they are as it is best that the potential Thai bride knows and gives her opinion than freak her out when the shirt comes off on the beach.
When getting Traditional Thai Tattoos especially if there is writing involved find out what it means and get a second opinion by taking your Thai women along to read it as some tattooist have a sense of humor, you do not want Thai writing on your skin for life that turns out to be some what insulting, it has happened before.
A good idea is to chat to long term expats you may have to visit the Go Go Bars to find them but they will likely be able to tell you the best places to go.
